PPS Logistics Welcomes New Head of Operations
From the warehouse floor to Head of Operations
William’s career is a story we recognise well at PPS – one that began on the warehouse floor and behind the wheel of a 3.5 – tonne vehicle. From those frontline beginnings he progressed steadily through the ranks, taking on roles as Depot Manager, Area Manager, General Manager and Regional Manager before stepping up to Head of Operations.
That journey took him across Scotland, the North East of England and Northern Ireland, ultimately leading operations across Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. In his most recent role he was responsible for eight sites spanning transport and waste facility operations, overseeing nine direct reports and a workforce of around 250 staff.
It’s a path that reflects something we hold firmly at PPS Logistics: that with the right attitude and support, our people can build a genuine career with us – not just a job. We’re proud to be a business where drivers and warehouse staff can progress into management and leadership, and William’s own journey is living proof of where hard work and ambition can lead.
Looking ahead
After my first few meetings with Andrew, I knew straight away that this was something I wanted to be part of. His passion and vision for the business left me genuinely excited about what lies ahead. The opportunity reminded me of my early franchise days, a period I look back on as the most rewarding of my career both personally and professionally, where that same sense of energy, ownership, and shared purpose drove everything. I’m looking forward to being part of the PPS journey and contributing to what I believe is going to be something special.
A word from our Managing Director, Andrew Muir
I look forward to see William learn the business and put his own stamp on things. He has the skillset and experience required to deliver in this role and was selected for his strong cultural fit primarily. Operations is what we do every day, in the background, it needs someone of Williams Calibre leading this side of the business so we can set ambitious goals on where we are heading, we can only do that when we have strong foundational leadership in this area. I am sure he will make a success of it and I look forward to working with him closely.
